About
The Love Yourz Foundation is a local, non-profit organization that supports the youth and young adults of West Louisville. Our mission is to promote a healthier community and provide our young people an opportunity in saving our community from the "food desert" in which we live. Here, with Love Yourz, we use a hands-on approach in teaching our youth the basic skills in Urban Agriculture. We will provide on-the-ground demonstration, outreach and technical assistance through the development of our on community food systems. These lessons will help to teach our youth to grow, process, market, and distribute food in a sustainable manner. In doing so, we will help to provide equal access to healthy, high-quality, safe and affordable food for the people in our community.
For our youth and through our youth, we aim to provide positive youth development where they will receive guidance from mentors and are encouraged to take on proactive leadership roles within our organization. As this organization grows we hope to create a variety of jobs for the teens and young adults of the community. We want to improve knowledge and skills of young people and the quality of life in the community in which we live. Our youth will be involved and engaged as equal partners. Our foundation will provide a safe place for our members to explore their interests, work collectively, share their talents, and learn from others. We are not just growing good food, we are growing good people. We want to continue the works of the late West Louisville native, Muhammad Ali. We will promote respect, hope, and understanding and inspire people everywhere to be as great as they can be.
